The Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge is a non-profit arts organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in Pitt County by promoting artists and arts organizations, educating through the arts, and making the arts accessible to the entire community. One way we accomplish our mission is by providing funding opportunities for artist to further their career through arts grants. In addition we provide opportunities for business growth, national juried shows, and instructor positions as a gallery and art center. Lastly, our Artist Directory connects artists residing and working in Pitt County with our local community.
The Pitt County Arts Council offers two types of grant opportunities. The Artist Support Grants are for individual artists of any discipline in 6 counties of Eastern North Carolina. Grassroots Arts Project Grants are for non-profit organizations that implement arts projects in Pitt County.
As a gallery and art center, Emerge offers opportunities in national juried shows, art sales, and festivals as well as free business workshops to further the artist's career.
The Pitt County Arts Council invites artists of all concentrations (musicians, performers, visual artists, etc.) to register themselves as an artist of Pitt County. The benefits include connecting artists with our community and each other.
